The Famous Toony Flip - framed & signed print.
Limited Edition (20) High Quality Framed Print (57.5cm x 77.5cm)
For all those who played for or supported Scotland at Parc des Princes on 18th February 1995, this limited edition framed print will evoke one of the most memorable days in recent Scottish Rugby history.
This superb high quality print, designed by the Scottish artist Iain McIntosh (illustrator of 44 Scotland Street among other things), has been created from the original match programme signed by the players, two match-day tickets and an edited extract from an article written by Richard Bath for the Scotsman in which he describes his best ever try from all five and six-nation tournaments.
The Toony Flip, as we all now know, was an outrageous sleight of hand by 21 year-old Gregor Townsend that led to the match-winning try by Gavin Hastings. It was to be Scotland’s one and only victory over France at Parc des Princes and their first victory in France since 1969.
Each framed print has been signed by both Gavin Hastings and Gregor Townsend. These are original signatures, not facsimiles.
For rugby aficionados, D. Shade Munro was not in the team that day and was replaced by Doddie Weir – his first cap for Scotland.
