Michael Ferndale will be running five marathons in five different cities in reverse over five days to raise money for the Lord’s Taverners and The Change Foundation in support of disadvantaged and disabled young people
Lord’s Taverners is the UK’s leading youth cricket and disability sports charity which aims to enhance the lives of disadvantaged and disabled young people across the country through sport. The Lord’s Taverners is working to break down barriers and empower young people to fulfil their potential, build inclusive communities and lay the foundations for a positive future through free cricket programmes.
In addition, we provide minibuses, sports wheelchairs, play spaces and sensory rooms that enable disabled young people to access a wider range of experiences and environments that enable them to develop and grow. Our sports kit recycling programme also provides equipment and clothing to projects across the UK and overseas allowing young people to regularly play sport and build teams.

The Change Foundation is an award-winning UK charity that uses sport to change the lives of marginalised young people. We deliver targeted long-term interventions for the most vulnerable young people in our communities through regular sport, personalised mentoring, and wider tailored support.
Deliver – we deliver targeted sport for social change programmes for the most vulnerable young people through Coach Mentors with lived experience.
Innovate – we design programmes with young people, using creative methodologies and testing ideas by delivering 6–12-month pilot programmes.
Inspire – we work with other charities, employers and corporate organisations and create bespoke solutions to extend the power and reach of our programmes for maximum social impact
Guided by young people, our listening process has directed us to deliver sports programmes that focus on these social issues affecting young people today.
We exist to help young people find solutions to deal with these social issues through the power of sport.
